Megan Houck joined SG Law in 2016, working as a Law Clerk while pursuing her legal education. After a three-year posting abroad, she returned to SG Law and has continued to grow with the firm ever since. In 2025, Megan earned her Juris Doctor from George Mason University’s Antonin Scalia Law School, completing the rigorous evening program while working full-time.

Originally from Pennsylvania, Megan has called Loudoun County, Virginia home since 2016. Her husband’s career—first as an active-duty military member, and now as a Federal Agent with the U.S. Department of State—has given Megan a deep appreciation for the unique legal and family challenges faced by military and Foreign Service families. Drawing on this personal experience, she brings compassion, understanding, and insight to her work with clients navigating family transitions and complex dynamics.

During her family’s three-year posting in Sarajevo, Bosnia, Megan served on the School Board of the International School in Sarajevo, working with educators and families from diverse cultural backgrounds. Before that, while her family was stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, she served as a Guardian ad Litem for the Cumberland County Juvenile Court, advocating for children in need of support and stability. Those experiences further deepened her commitment to family advocacy and helped shape her focus on family law—a practice area she believes lies at the heart of people’s lives and wellbeing.

Coming from a large, blended family herself, Megan understands firsthand the complexities and emotional realities that come with family transitions. Whether guiding clients through custody arrangements, divorce, or guardianship matters, she strives to help families find practical, compassionate resolutions that prioritize stability and peace of mind.

Outside of work, Megan enjoys baking, reading, traveling, catching live comedy shows, and spending time with her husband, four children, and her ( very adorable!) granddaughter. She’s also known around the office for her sense of humor and her love of a good prank war.

Megan is an active member of the Virginia Women’s Attorney Association, the Loudoun County Bar Association, and the Virginia Bar Association.
